What does SIL include?

  • Up to 24/7 support from qualified staff
  • Cleaning and laundry assistance
  • Shower and personal care support
  • Grocery shopping and meal preparation support
  • In-home activities
  • Assistance with booking appointments

What is not included?

  • Grocery expenses
  • Rent or accommodation
  • Utilities such as gas, electricity, water, phone, internet
  • Household budgeting and paying bills
  • Travel or holiday expenses
  • Personal care whilst in hospital
  • Items covered in other sections of the NDIS
  • Costs related to Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)

How do I apply for SIL?

  1. Contact your Support Coordinator and let them know you would like to apply for SIL.
  2. A number of allied health assessments will be required to establish whether you are eligible.
  3. Your Support Coordinator will then lodge your change of circumstances with the NDIS.
  4. Once approved, we can assist you in finding suitable accommodation.
